鸡西市位于黑龙江省东南部,总面积22,531平方公里，辖鸡东县、密山市、虎林市三县(市)六区，人口200万，被誉为我国太阳升起最早的地方。

　　鸡西矿产资源丰富，现已探明56个矿种,主要有煤炭、石墨、硅线石、钾长石、大理岩、黄金、铂、钯、矿泉水等。煤田分布广、煤种齐全，有焦煤、气煤、肥煤等7个煤种，总储量80亿吨；石墨总储量7.8亿吨；硅线石储量4000万吨；大理岩储量6.3亿吨；黄金储量大于5吨。

　　鸡西市野生资源丰富。药材上百种，山产品300余种，蕨菜、薇菜等闻名中外。有虎、熊、鹿、貂、狍、狼等39种野生动物繁衍生息；鱼类65种，其中翘嘴红鲅(大白鱼)为中国四大淡水名鱼之一。

　　鸡西市是黑龙江省的重点产粮地区之一。耕地总面积55.4万公顷，盛产水稻、玉米、大豆、蔬菜等。全市有11个大型国有农场，粮食平均年产量200万吨。有31个产品获得绿色食品标志，绿色食品产值达20.4亿元。

　　Brief Introduction of Jixi Jixi is in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province. With a total area of 22,531 km2, Jixi has a population of two million, and administers three counties and six districts include Jidong County, Mishan City and Hulin City. It is the city where the sun rises first in China.

　　Jixi abounds in mineral resources. There are 56 kinds of verified commodities mainly include coal, graphite, sillimanite, potash feldspar, marble, gold, platinum, palladium and mineral water etc. With a total reserve of 8 billion tons, coalfields distribute wide and coal kinds are complete include 7 kinds such as coking coal, gas coal and fat coal etc; total reserve of graphite is 780 million tons; the reserve of sillimanite is 40 million tons; the reserve of marble is 630 million tons; and the reserve of gold is more than 5 tons.

　　Wild resources are quite rich in Jixi. There are more than 100 kinds of medicinal materials and 300 kinds of mountain products， among which bracken and vetch are famous in the world. There are 39 kinds of wild beasts include tiger, bear, deer, ermine, roe deer and wolf etc. There are 65 kinds of fishes, among which warping-mouth red Spanish mackerel, which popular name is big white fish, is one of 4 most famous freshwater fish in China.

　　Jixi is one of important breadbaskets of Heilongjiang. The total area of cultivated land, which abounds in paddy, wheat, corn， soybean and vegetables etc, is 554 thousand heaters. Jixi, which average output of grain is 2 million tons a year, has 11 large-scale state-owned farms. There are 31 products have won the monogram of green food, and its production value reaches 2.04 billion Yuan.
